Meet Buster, our beloved 11-year-old Stafford Bull Terrier.

Don’t be fooled by his age, he may be 11 but he is still very much young at heart! He is a loving, affectionate character, who just enjoys human interaction.

When Buster first came to us, he didn’t seem phased by his new surroundings, however we learnt quickly that he struggled with kennel life. We managed to get him into a lovely foster home and he has come on leaps and bounds! His fosterer has said that ‘He is generally relaxed in new surroundings; he can be very curious and excitable in new indoor areas. He is relaxed when left alone too”

Buster is a clever boy and responds well to training and as he is a big foodie this will help keep training exciting for him! He knows the basic commands e.g. sit, down, come, he is learning new tricks. Buster enjoys being stroked especially back and ear scratches and not forgetting the tummy rubs! He loves meeting new people! He loves to go on short adventures and play in the river. He loves playing with toys, especially soft toys with squeakers in it and any ball toys, as much as he loves it, he will destroy them!

When it comes to other dogs Buster likes to sniff and say hello to them and he does enjoy playing with another dog, as long as they like to play also. Although he likes to meet them and get on with them outside the house, we recommend that he is the only pet in the home. This boy simply likes his own space.

Unfortunately, due to his age Buster does have very mild arthritis in his right elbow, he is starting hydrotherapy whilst in our care as he loves water and this will help keep good muscling and his joints mobile. This is not a must but will certainly help and is a fun alternative exercise as he is now on shorter walks of no more than half an hour. If you are interested in this gorgeous boy this is something you will need to consider.

Buster would be suited to a home with dog savvy children aged 14+
