GIFTS IN WILLS
A legacy in your Will to the RSPCA Preston & District Branch will provide crucial funds. We could not carry out our work without such generous support.

Let Your Love Live On
Our branch relies on the generosity of the local community to continue the animal welfare work we love to do. Legacies left to us in Wills make up the majority of funds we rely on to continue this important work.

Our branch rehabilitates and rehomes cats and dogs who have been rescued from cruelty, neglect, abandonment and abuse. We provide everything they need on their rehabilitation journey, and then match them up with their forever family. We need vital funds for their care, for anything from food to veterinary care, as we are a self-funded branch. Our average monthly running costs are approximately £50,000.
Leaving a Legacy
To leave a legacy to our charity, you can do this by making a Will or by adding a codicil (a document which specifies alterations to your Will). If you are making a Will, please remember that the RSPCA Preston & District Branch and all the other RSPCA branches are separately registered charities. So if you would like our work to benefit animals in your local area, we would respectfully suggest that your legacy reads:
I give the sum of £ ……………….. (or specify percentage of estate or share of residue) to the RSPCA Preston & District Branch, Registered Charity Number: 232256, of Slack Cottage, Longridge Road, Ribbleton, Preston, PR2 6QL, for its general purposes and I declare that the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer of the said Branch for the time being shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said legacy.
Please note that a Will or Codicil needs to be properly witnessed, and you should obtain legal advice.

Gifts to registered charities are generally exempt from Inheritance and Capital Gains Tax, so a gift to the RSPCA Preston & District Branch would therefore greatly benefit local animals with minimum burden to your estate.
