Say hello to Simba - our 3-year-old Frenchie cross!
Simba came to us through no fault of his own and sadly he was not treated the way he should have been, despite that he is a loving friendly boy who has adapted well to life here at the centre. He is quite relaxed in his kennel now he has settled in, and sees it as his safe place, only barking if the others dogs do!
He loves being out and going to new places, and really enjoys his off-site walks or a good sniff around a field. He enjoys his food and can be quite enthusiastic with it! He also likes fuss from people but would always rather play if toys are around. He can become a little fixated with some toys (especially balls, and things like tyres) but he is working on this, and leaving things when asked - ongoing training will need to be continued in his new home.
Simba tolerates being bathed and groomed, and will enjoy a stroke. He is a very clever boy and knows basic commands but can be easily distracted! He has enjoyed lots of off-site walks and behaves really nicely on them. He doesn’t react to passing people or traffic, but can pull a little on the lead. He doesn’t show too much interest in other dogs out and about as he is too busy with his own walk.
However, at the centre, he has met another dog and was a bit rude at greeting them! The experience wasn’t particularly a positive one for Simba so for him to have the life he deserves and to ensure the best chance of a successful adoption, Simba would be best as the only pet in an adult only home.
Simba will need an experienced dog owner, and preferably with experience of French Bulldogs.
