Say hello to Simba - our 3-year-old Frenchie cross!
Simba came to us through no fault of his own and sadly he was not treated the way he should have been, despite that he is a loving friendly boy who has adapted well to life here at the centre.
Simba likes to explore new surroundings in a curious and relaxed manner. He is a total foody and will not pass up any opportunity for food or treats. When left alone, Simba has been observed relaxed and sleeping on the sofa (via webcam), his fosterer also mentioned that once Simba has found his ideal place for a deep sleep, that's it he will stay there for his snoozes!
Simba likes to greet all people with a happy face and wagging tail. He enjoys strokes, back scratches, head rubs, and enjoys being groomed with a grooming mitt.
Simba generally ignores others dogs when out and about, but care and caution should be taken with any dog interactions but he is quite happy to meet new people.
Simba knows a few commands, sit, down and he knows his own name. He can offer his paw, and is very responsive to training as he is such a foody. He walks well on lead, although he will pull initially as he is excited to get going. He loves his toys, especially any rubber squeaky ones but will not give these up on command and we are working on this training.
Simba travels very well in the car and when out walking he is not fazed by cars, bikes or runners. He is curious when he hears a sudden or loud noise, and will stop to look at where they are coming from.
Simba is looking for an adult only home as the only pet and will need an experienced dog owner.
