Say hello to Dottie our 4-year-old female Dachshund!
Dottie came in to our care through no fault of her own, with her pals Ted and Millie. She settled well in to kennel life until the gang found a foster placement, where she has again adapted and settled quickly.
Dottie is a spritely little thing who loves being out and about exploring and meeting people. A typical Daxie, Dottie will bark at passing dogs, however will stop when asked and is friendly with other dogs once she has settled down. She pulls a little on the lead on walks initially but does settle once the walk gets going, however she does like to be at the front! She is a little anxious travelling in the car.
In the home, Dottie is perfectly well behaved, is fully toilet trained and obeys basic commands. She spends most of her time following people around and sleeping in front of the fire. She plays with soft toys when Millie is not there to steal them off her! Dottie can be a bit bossy around food so might need feeding separately from any other dogs.
Dottie is a bit anxious about being left alone so her new family may need to build up to this. She could be rehomed with her friend Millie (an Old English Sheepdog), on her own if she has plenty of human company, or with another dog subject to successful introductions. Dottie could live with children over 5 years of age.
