Say hello to our beautiful girl Annie, our 1.5-year-old Whippet cross!

Annie came to us as a stray so unfortunately, we do not know anything about her past. She struggled at first in kennels and did not like to be left, but she has adapted well to the routine and is much calmer now. For a while she would not toilet on the lead but she’s making great progress with this!
Annie loves being out of her kennel and going places, sniffing and exploring. She can pull slightly on lead due to her eagerness but does settle and is enjoyable to walk!

Annie came to us with her friend Ollie, so we know she can form doggie friendships, but when seeing other dogs out and about she will pull towards them and watch intently. We have been unable to do a proper dog meet with an unknown dog as yet but we can say Annie is likely to need some training in this area.

Annie is doing really well with meeting lots of different people at the Centre. When seeing strangers out and about, she usually gives one initial bark but then will approach and says hello nicely. She absolutely loves cuddles and attention and will come to you and gently ask for fuss. Annie loves her food and responds well to little bits of training, when there aren’t too many distractions around. She can be a bit worried if surrounded by a group of people so a smaller household may be best.

Annie loves toys, maybe even more than treats! Her favourite is a ball, without a doubt! She is not too keen on bad weather (typical whippy!) and lives for sunny days where she stands outside soaking up the rays! Annie is looking for an active family (Children 16+) who will take her on long walks, spend plenty of time with her and be willing to work on her training needs. She will need to be the only dog in the home.
