FOSTER - TO - ADOPT
Everyone meet Annie our beautiful 2-year-old Whippet X girlie.
She came to us as a stray so unfortunately, we do not know anything about her past. She did arrive to us with her friend Olly, however the longer she was in kennels the more her play style was a bit too much for Olly, despite this she enjoyed walks with him.
She struggled at first in kennels but has adapted well to the new routine. She enjoys being out and about, going places, sniffing and exploring however new surroundings can be a bit stressful for her initially.
She has spent some of her time in a foster home where she could relax and get all the attention out of kennels! She aced her toilet training in foster which she struggles with in kennels.
Annie can pull slightly on lead due to her eagerness to get somewhere exciting but her focus on her handler is fantastic when training and she is enjoyable to walk!
Annie is working hard on her dog socialising, making sure she has as many positive and calm experiences as possible to build up her confidence. She has shown some reactivity in foster; however, she has had more positive dog socials at the centre. As it was with her old friend Olly, her energy can be a bit much for some dogs. Her new family will need to carry on this training in the home.
Annie is doing really well with meeting lots of different people at the Centre. She can be a bit wary at first and may bark. She absolutely loves cuddles and attention and will come to you and very gently ask for fuss once she knows you.
Annie loves her food and responds well to training, but she loves toys, even more than treats! Her favourite is a ball, without a doubt! Tennis balls are life!!! She is not too keen on bad weather and lives for sunny days.
Annie is looking for an adult only family who will take her on long walks, spend plenty of time with her and be willing to work on her training as she is unfamiliar with household items like vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers. Her family will need to have a quiet, calm, household, one that is predictable for her so that she can settle in well.
She does not like being left on her own for too long so this will need some work whilst she settles in to her new home, she also travels well in the car if her new family like adventures.
She will need to be the only dog in the home and no cats.
THIS ASSESSMENT IS ONGOING AND MAY CHANGE IN THE FUTURE
