Meet Marmalade, our 4-year-old Ginger and White female Domestic Shorthair!
This little lady has unfortunately been in our care since before Christmas, she came from a multi-cat household and had to battle through a very bad case of cat flu before she could go out into foster and start learning how to be a cat!
Marmalade was extremely nervous of contact with humans for a long time. And, despite making amazing progress in her foster home, she will still need a lot of time, space and patience in her new home. It may be a long time before Marmalade is up for cuddles, and there is a possibility she might never really be that kind of cat.
Despite not fancying much fuss, Marmalade is a happy little cat, who will keep you well entertained! She zooms around and will play for hours throughout the day with little balls, mice, feathers, bells… anything she can throw and chase after! She is learning how to chase the flirt pole and will hunt the feather on the end when she is feeling brave! She also loves a scratching post and a scratching box.
Her foster mum is so proud of her, and says she is getting more confident every day in the home and now comes out of the cat room every day, and heads for her new favourite spot – the spare bed!
Marmalade uses her litter trays without issue. She will need to be the only pet in the household and would benefit from a quiet, adult-only home without a lot of visitors. She will need to be kept indoors as her nervous nature will put her in danger in the big wide world.
