PROFILE

**FOSTER TO ADOPT**

Dodger is our older but young at heart 8-year-old gent who is more than ready to find his perfect match after almost 300 days in our care. He is foster to adopt whilst he undergoes his vet checks and settles into the new home so any necessary support is at hand.

Despite being 8 years old, Dodger is just as adventurous and curious as any young dog would be!! While he can be an occasionally vocal boy, he is one of the most well-rounded pooches you may ever come across!!

Dodger isn't intimidated by new places and takes great interest in exploring, especially through sniffing everything that he can!! While he does enjoy some fuss, he is much more content doing his own thing and engaging with his environment. He has become a bit more of a fuss pot the longer he’s been with us.

Dodger would benefit very well from a family who can take him on trips out where he can have new experiences as often as he can. As well as a family who is around most of the time to help him learn that it’s okay to be alone and can stop him from encountering any mischief his nose may lead him too!!

Dodger interacts very well with other dogs and is either playful and interactive, or just generally tolerant and more focuses on the adventure at hand, he has been tested with many dogs at the centre and there has never been a negative response from Dodger himself, he does prefer more chilled out non-boisterous dogs- making him ideal an ideal friend for a well matched and calm canine companion.

Dodgers explorative nature means that he also doesn't engage with toys much and would rather find enrichment through engaging his senses. Dodger has spent time intermittently in foster homes, here his more playful nature was expressed and showed a greater interest in toys and playing!!

Dodger will need some ongoing training when in the home, he can be a little cheeky around food and will try to help himself if you turn your back. He walks very nicely on the lead and is toilet trained when in the home. He knows his basic commands and has an eager interest in treats to help him learn new things with a positive method.

With Dodger being an older dog, its ideal that his new home should only have children above secondary school age, this is simply because a quieter and less chaotic environment will help dodger settle and avoid stress in his new home.

As mentioned, Dodger can be rehomed with another dog after successful meets, he is looking for any dogs to be calm natured and chilled out in personality. There are to be no cats in the home.

If you think you can provide this ever so deserving chap of the forever home he so rightfully deserves, please email info@rspca-preston.org.uk to request an application form.
