The RSPCA Preston & District Branch is a self funding separately registered charity. Its costs us an average of £24,000 per month to run and whilst we get some funding from the National RSPCA we rely heavily on public donations and the generosity of the community to keep the doors of our animal centre open. We receive no Government funding at all.
Our main aim is to take in abandoned, neglected or abused animals. We nurse them back to health, rehabilitate and then find them loving, permanent homes. This is never easy as the high volume of unwanted animals often far outweighs the suitable homes needed. The entire running costs of the centre, including animal food and accessories, veterinary treatment and medication, rates, repairs and renewals, cleaning and staff costs must all be met by raising funds locally.
RSPCA Preston & District Branch also has a Veterinary Clinic that provides basic veterinary treatment for anyone on certain benefits. This is an essential service for the local community and their animals. We rely heavily on volunteers who support us in many ways, by helping with the animals or volunteering at fundraising events. Every penny raised counts and is used at Preston for the care of our animals and we never compromise on animal welfare. Without the help of our volunteers and generous public donations, the animal centre would not be able to keep its doors open. Please help to Save Our Centre by donating here
Here at RSPCA Preston & District Branch we`re busy fundraising by collecting old British or foreign coins and notes, even obsolete currency. You will see a collection point in reception. Once all the currency has been collected we send it to www.cash4coins.co.uk who exchanges it into cash we can use. The collection point will be here all year so keep it coming please.
