Introducing Millie, our 10-year-old Old English Sheepdog!

Millie came in to our care through no fault of her own with her friends Ted and Dottie. She settled well in to kennel life, and adapted quickly again when she moved into her foster home.
Although she is 10, she does not let her age slow her down, she is always eager to be out and about exploring. She travels really well in the car and loves looking out the windows. She walks really nicely and is friendly with people and dogs who she comes across – she doesn’t usually react to anything (unless Dottie starts it!)

Millie is very well behaved in the home; is toilet trained and obeys basic commands. She spends most of her time sleeping on the settee, or following people around the house. She is very affectionate and loves attention, but sometimes she can get a little overwhelmed and demanding and bark at you for more! She gets a bit anxious when left so would ideally have plenty of human or canine company in her new home.
Although Millie and Dottie are best friends, Millie can be quite full-on and overpowering with Dottie. They also don’t like to share toys or food. We are open to rehoming Millie either with Dottie, on her own if she has plenty of human company, or with another dog subject to successful introductions. Millie could live with dog-savvy children over 10 years of age.

Millie will need regular professional grooming in her new home; she is good for this but sensitive about her feet and nails being handled too much.

Millie does have some arthritis in her knees so is on supplements for this, her new family will need to continue this and be mindful that she may need pain relief if this worsens in the future. We have been unable to neuter Millie yet as she has been in season, so she will be rehomed with a voucher to contribute towards this cost.
