Igor is our handsome 10-month-old American Bulldog cross.

Igor unfortunately arrived to us with very little information on his background and past life, but he has definitely stolen the hearts of the staff here at the branch.

When Igor came to us, he was very nervous and unsure of a lot of the goings on around the centre and new noises scared him; he has come on leaps and bounds and has started to take things in stride, but some work is still needed to help this lad become the confident dog we know he can be.

Although he has built some amazing relationships with the team some new people can make him a little wary but with a few treats and positive interactions it doesn’t take this lad long to become friends. Once hes comfortable with you he will show you all the love he has to offer, he can’t get enough of the attention and is always eager to please.

Igor has quite a short attention span when it comes to training, but he is still a pup and needs a little work on his general obedience. As expected with a young lad of his breed, he is super excitable. He knows sit and his own name, and will come when called, short and sweet training sessions are going to be best for this boy.

He loves his toys especially a ball or something like a rope toy he can chew on. He gives his toys up on command. Although he is jumpy and excitable he is gentle, however he has mouthed on a few occasions here in rescue when his excitement and emotions have gotten the better of him, so continued work on this will be important in the home.

Igor can be quite tense and rude when he is around other dogs but we are working with him on this and he is doing amazing, his attention to his handler is improving all the time and he is showing some amazing progress with all areas of his training every day.

Igor is looking for an adult only home as the only pet where his new family can help him grow in confidence and offer him the time and patience he needs to thrive.
