Meet our very handsome 4-Year-Old Bengal, Duke.
‼️ Adopters are to preferably have Bengal experience.‼️
Duke came to us after being abandoned. This lad enjoys attention and all the fuss he can get but, on his terms, if you stop stroking him, he has been known to give a nip! Duke is independent, he wants nothing more than to be out and about and it is clear to see he is finding cattery life difficult as he simply wants to be out to be a cat again.
A typical Bengal, he loves to let you know he's around with his wonderful singing voice.
When Duke first came to us, he was a little shy and timid but that didn't last too long, cause the confidence knocked that out the way! When your around he can be; vocal, alert/curious as to what's going on or just simply snoozing the day away on his shelf.
He can be a little shy around new people but that doesn't last long because new people means more affection and food... Duke is a greedy boy and will take any opportunity to steal a treat, when feeding, he is very enthusiastic and can be a little rude.
Dukes likes being groomed, he however doesn't like being picked up and he will try and get away, so owners need to be aware to give him this space and not force any picking up until he is ready. At time of the assessment Duke has shown little interest in toys, he seems to want to play but loses interest quickly. However, we have seen him playing independently with kicky toys, showing his true hunting skills.
Duke is Litter trained and can use a cat flap. He did have some toileting mishaps before he was neutered but is now resolved. Duke is finding cattery life difficult as he does not like other cats and he really wants to be out so we feel we are only seeing a portion of Duke whilst he is in our care.
Duke will need an adult only home as he can be naughty with his communication as the only pet, it is clear that he much prefers his own space and being the centre of attention when he wants.
This assessment is ongoing and may change.
*Applications for Duke will only be accepted until Sunday 30th November 11:00*
