A Postcard From Sonny...

sonny

All our prayers were finally answered at the beginning of March this year, when our beautiful Rotty Sonny found a new home after spending 16 months in kennels at the centre.

When Sonny came to the centre in November 2007 he was very underweight and had a painful eye condition which took several operations to correct. He did not trust humans and hated having his eye drops put in, not to mention visiting the vets.
However, in time and with a lot of patience from the staff, Sonny began to come out of his shell and won the hearts of everyone who worked with him.

To our delight after 16 long months, the Sarginson family fell in love with Sonny instantly and gave him a fantastic new home. Here is the postcard Sonny sent us of his journey from the beginning........

sonny1 "Hi there everyone,
Although I love it here at the Preston RSPCA, and I've made lots of friends, I can't wait to find a new home and family of my own.

But the staff have just told me I am "Reserved" to the Sarginson family, whatever that means?!"

sonny1 "Here I am with my biggest fan Kirsty, she was giving me a bath before what she was calling "The Big Day"

sonny1 "I loved having a bath but getting dried was the best bit! Kirsty told me it was to make me smell beautiful for my new owners!"

sonny1 "So this was the big day? I got to spend the morning in reception so everyone could say goodbye! And I even got some new toys! I knew something was going on!"

Four Weeks Later.........

sonny1 "And this is me now!

I live with a wonderful family and Dee Dee, (my new girlfriend) is so much fun!"

sonny1 "Not too sure about these things they call cats though!"

sonny1 "Ahhh! So this is what they call a home! My kennel was ok but boy could I get used to this!"

sonny1 "After a nap we go for a long walk and me and Dee Dee race each other to the brook"

sonny1 "I always make time for another nap though! I'm so glad I found a home like this. I'm a very lucky boy!"

Bye for now!!

Love Sonny
xXx

Well done Sonny! You finally found the home you deserved. All the staff miss you but couldn't be happier for you. You are proof that every animal can have a happy ending no matter how long it takes!
