Some of our cats looking for a new home - updated 04.02.12

Kat

Gender - Female
Domestic Short Haired
Black and White

LONGSTAY - Been here at the centre 8 mths

Kat is an 8 year old girl who was brought to the centre because her owner was suffering from ill health.

I am a gorgeous girl who likes a little bit of a fuss, but not too much. I would like to go to a quieter home where I can relax, and enjoy a fuss every now and again as I like to spend most of my days curled up in my bed, usually only moving at food time. Kat is looking for a home with no other cats and would be suitable as an indoor/outdoor cat, she is slightly overweight so would benefit from having a house to move around providing her with a little exercise.

Gender - Male
Domestic Short Haired
Black

LONGSTAY - Been here at the centre 7 mths

Sooty was brought in to the centre for rehoming as unfortunately his owner had to go into a nursing home. He is a handsome boy! Currently Sooty is being fostered by Auntie Julie along with his sort of friend Kitty (she is a lille reluctant to socialise with Sooty). Sooty has adapted very quickly to his surroundings and likes to make himself a den under the covers on the settee. He loves spending time watching the pig, chickens and geese from the window. Auntie Julie says that Sooty is a very clean boy who loves his food, he is very tolerant of being stroked but sometimes lets you know when he is not in the mood for attention. Recently Sooty has been let out to explore his new surrounding at his foster home, he is truly loving his independence and has made a big effort to become part of the cat social group. Auntie Julie has many rescue animals from dogs and cats to poultry and pigs and Sooty is adapting very well to them all, infact the staff at the centre are very much suprised by his response. Sooty is however still awaiting his forever home, having been out on foster we can now see that Sooty is able to live alongside a feline and canine companion, Children will need to be slighlt older (10+).

CURRENTLY BEING FOSTERED BUT STILL LOOKING FOR A PERMANENT LOVING HOME

Kitty
kitty

Gender - Female
Domestic Short Haired
Tortie and White

Kitty is a very beautiful cat with quite a cheeky character, she is currently being fostered by my Aunty Julie who felt so sad that Kitty had been at the RSPCA for around 12 months with not one single enquiry. Kitty has been in her foster home for 2 months and although she truly loves her Aunty Julie dearly, its a little bit manic. We are appealing for a home more suited to Kitty's needs, thankfully fostering has helped show what these needs are. Kitty is longing for a home thats very quiet, with older children(14+) and no other pets. She was abused in my past so finds it difficult to trust people, she desperately wants attention but only likes it in small doses and on her terms. Kitty is very affectionate and will curl up on your knee, she does like a fuss but preferably whilst she is on the floor, she isn't to happy with being picked up.

Poppy

Gender - Female
Domestic Short Haired
Black

Poppy is a freindly cat who is quite a nervous girl, but once she is given time and space to settle in she will make a lovely pet. She will probably be better being the only cat in the household, as she isn't that well socialised with other cats. She will be suitable for a house with slightly older children (12+) and will be fine to be left for 4-5 hours. She will make a fantastic pet and is longing for her forever home.

Mr. Darcy
Mr. Darcy

Gender - Male
Domestic Short Haired
Tabby and White
Adult

Mr. Darcy loves attention and is very affectionate, although he is not too keen on having his back legs and tummy touched at the moment. It is recommended that he is a housecat, that should only be left between 4-5 hours and would be suitable to be rehomed to a family where the children are over 14 years old. Mr. Darcy
would make a lovely addition to most households.

Merlin
Merlin

Gender - Male
Domestic Semi long haired
Black

Merlin is a beautiful, friendly big boy who is approximately 4 years old. He loves attention and cuddles, but will let you know when he has had enough, he is quite a character! It is recommended that merlin be rehomed to a family where the children are over 10 years of age, where he would only be left for 3-4 hours, he can be an indoor/outdoor cat, there is the possibility that he can be rehomed with both cats and dogs. Merlin will make a lovely pet for most households, he really is a gorgeous cat.

The Centre often has kittens available for adoption. When they arrive at the Centre they can vary in ages, some are very young, or they can even be born here. For this reason our kittens are not able to be reserved until at least 8 weeks of age, depending on size and overall health. When our vet thinks they are of suitable size and health to be homed, he/she will give them a full healthcheck and vaccinate them; at which point they will be able to be reserved and homed. If you are interested in adopting a kitten please visit the centre where you will be able to see our kittens that may be available.
