| Troy |
 |
Gender - Male
Mastiff
Brindle and White
Approx 2 years old
CERTIFICATE AWARDED IN NOVICE LEVEL DOG TRAINING
EXPERIENCED OWNER REQUIRED!
Troy is a beautiful boy, he was found tied to a tree whilst having stones thrown at him by some youths. When he arrived he also needed eye surgery but as now made a full recovery and is desperate to find his forever home.
I am a very big boy probably the biggest at the centre, I do like to play with dogs but I get very talkative and giddy when they are around. I am looking for a home without any young children, cats or small animals which means I get all the right attention to make me a really good boy. A house on it's own in the country would be really nice where there is plenty of room and I don't get distracted by neighbourly dogs and cats. My temporary family say that I have matured so much during my time with them and I'm a different dog, I still require lots of training though. My handler has been spending lots of time with me teaching me to walk to heal and take treats gently, I was so underweight that food has become an obsession, everybody is so happy with my progress.
PERMANENT/FOSTER HOME REQUIRED
I now also have my own facebook page, please follow me on Facebook!! http://www.facebook.com/update_security_info.php?wizard=1#!/pages/Troy/107280936040839
TROY HAS NOW BEEN TRANSFERRED TO THE SHEFFIELD BRANCH OF THE RSPCA

| Winnie |
 |
Gender - Female
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
White and brown
Approx 19 months
Winnie was brought to the Centre as a Stray and nobody came to claim her.
Winnie can melt your heart with just one glance! She is an absolutely beautiful little girl who is very friendly and playful. Winnie does not get along with cats and is a little wary around other dogs, so would be better suited to being the only pet in the household. It is recommended that Winnie would be rehomed with a family where the children are over 10 years of age, where the fence height would be between 5- 6 foot high, only to be left between 3 - 4 hours and to have a minimum of two 30 minute walks per day. Winnie likes a lot of human contact and attention and as she is only young and quite excitable off the lead she would benefit from weekly training classes. Winnie will make the perfect pet for most households.

| Charlie |
 |
Gender - female
Boxer Cross
Beige
Approx 3 years
Charlie is a lovely girl who loves attention and to be around people, she can get a little excited at times due to her happy personality. It is recommended that Charlie be rehomed to a family with children 14 years and above, where initially she would only be left for 1-2 hours and where the fence height in the garden would be 5-6 feet. It is also recommended that Charlie attends weekly training classes, it is possible for her to be rehomed with another dog depending on the personality but she would not be suitable to be rehomed with cats.Charlie will make a great addition to any family, she has spent lots of time in reception lately and shown the staff here just how much of a lovable girl she is.

| Barney |
 |
Gender - Male
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross Greyhound
Chocolate and white
Approx 2 years
Barney was originally brought to the centre as a stray, he was only 8 weeks old.He has been in a home environment and a loyal companion for two years he was brought back to the Centre as his owners were moving house and could not take him with them.
Barney is an intelligent boy, who has a lot of energy and needs a lot of mental stimulation. He is quite strong and does have a tendancy to jump up, weekly training classes would be highly recommended for Barney. He loves his toys which could be used to make training that bit easier. It is recommended that Barney be rehomed to a family where the children are over 16 years of age, where he would only be left for 5-6 hours and where the height of the fence in the garden would be over six foot. Barney would benefit from a minimum of two 30 minute walks a day, he would not be suitable to be rehomed with a cat and further socialisation with other dogs is recommended as he does get quite excited and a little boisterous.Barney would make a lovely pet for a family who are willing to spend time training him, he is a lovely boy who just craves love, affection (as you can see from the picture) and a home environment of which he dearly misses. He has spent lots of time in reception lately as he is begining to show signs of kennel stress, what an adorable boy he is, his behaviour is far from what he can display in the stressful kennel environment. Please ask to see this handsome boy out of his kennel you will instantly feel the intensity of the love he is willing to give.

| Dixie |
 |
Gender - Male
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross
Tan
Approx 5 years
Dixie was brought to the Centre by one of our Animal Welfare Officers, he had been tied to a radiator for four years and has been seriously neglected.
Dixie is a lovely little boy, he is quite excitable and very energetic, which is hardly surprising due to his past.Dixie will need a lot of time and attention spending on him, as he will be quite demanding. It is recommended that he is rehomed to a family where the children are 10 years + where he would only be left between 1-2 hours initially and where the fence in the garden would be over 6 feet. Weekly training classes are essential and Dixie will need a minimum of two 30 minute walks per day. It is possible that Dixie could be rehomed with both dogs and cats (ideally with a confident cat that could tell him off!) Dixie loves playing and running with other dogs, he is very friendly towards them and enjoys their company. Dixie will make a lovely loyal companion for most families who are willing to train him.

| Jasper |
 |
Gender -Male
Greyhound
Tan
Approx 1 year
Jasper has been transferred back to us from the Southport Branch of the RSPCA as sadly he received no interest.
Jasper is a lovely friendly dog, he is very handsome and in desperate need of finding the right home. He has been back to the Centre twice (excluding the transfer to Southport) due to his separation anxiety issues, so he will need a home where he will not be left alone too long as he gets very stressed. If Jasper had the chance he would sit with his head on your knee and be stroked all day, he just loves human contact and attention. Jasper knows some basic commands although further socialisation with people, dogs and new surroundings will hopefully help develop Jasper's confidence. Jasper will need an understandingand experienced owner who can help him overcome his problem with being left alone.

| Betty |
 |
Gender -Female
Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Tan
Approx 3/4 years
Betty was brought to the Centre as a stray and nobody came to claim her
Betty is a nice friendly girl. She is very good at her basic commands especially `sit' and `lie down' and good at recall, although she would benefit from further training to build a bond with her new owners. Betty can be a little short tyempered with other dogs and cats and weekly training classes are recommended to overcome this along with extra socialization. It is also recommended that Betty be rehomed to a family where the children are 14 years and above, where she would only be left for 4-5 hours and where the fence height in the garden would be 5-6 feet. Betty is very fond of her toys and treats but can snatch them so new owners will have to be aware of this. With extra training Betty will make a lovely loyal pet for a family with older children, where she would preferably be the only pet in the household.

| Star |
 |
Gender - Female
Lurcher
Light Brindle
Approx 4 Months
Star was brought into the Centre as a stray and her owners never came to claim her.
Star is a lovely, little, friendly, playful pup. Star will need to continue to be socialised with other dogs by her new owners and at weekly training classes, which will be essential to her. Its is recommended that Star be rehomed to a family where the children are over 6 years of age, where she would only be left for 3-4 hours a day, where the fence height in the garden is 5-6 feet high and she should be walked a minimum of two thirty minute walks per day. Due to her breed it is not advisable that she be rehomed with a cat and if she is rehomed with another dog, she would need a dog that can let her know who is the boss as she is a little over-confident and boisterous with other dogs at the moment.Star will be the perfect addition to most families, she really is a little cutie.

Harry would be suitable for a family with children 10+, fence height must be 6ft and should be left no longer than 3-4hrs initially until he has matured some. | William |
 |
Gender - Male
Mastiff Cross
Brindle and White
Approx 9 months
William was brought to the centre for rehoming via one of our animal welfare officers.
William is an adorable big puppy who loves to play. This gentle giant walks quite nicely on lead and has good knowledge of basic commands. He is very sociable with other dogs but can be a boisterous player so other dogs will need to be accepting of this. William loves human attention and interaction and will make a fantastic family pet. His ideal home must have a fence height of over 6ft, children need to be 10+ and the ideal length of time he should be left is no longer than 5hrs, canine and feline companions are a very strong possibility.
